Michigan Twin 200’s at Michigan International Speedway
Each summer from 1970 to 1975, Michigan International Speedway came alive for the USAC Twin 200s—a bold festival of speed where open wheel champions and stock car stars shared the same two mile battleground in back to back, 200 mile showdowns. Legends like A. J. Foyt, Bobby Unser and Mark Donohue swapped disciplines, blurring the lines between Indy cars and stockers in a single, sun drenched afternoon of pure, unbridled racing.
Though the Twin 200s lasted just six seasons, they forged a lasting legacy of crossover courage and camaraderie—proof that when America’s finest drivers converge on one oval, the roar of their engines becomes the enduring heartbeat of motorsport.
