F1 Academy: Paving the Fast Lane for Future Female Racing Stars
Our designs usually focus on vintage themes, but the importance of the F1 Academy is too significant to overlook. Launched in 2023, the F1 Academy is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at developing young female drivers in motorsport, providing a clear path into Formula 1. The Academy offers a platform for women to gain experience, refine their skills, and compete at the highest levels, directly addressing the long-standing gender bias in motorsports. In its inaugural season, all teams raced with identical Tatuus F4-T-421 chassis, using Pirelli tires and 165-horsepower turbocharged engines, like those in other entry-level junior series.
Guided by Susie Wolff, a former Williams reserve driver and one of the closest women to the F1 grid since Lella Lombardi, the 2023 season primarily supported regional European series. However, the drivers got to showcase their talents on the global stage during the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX. Despite their impressive performances, there was a notable lack of merchandise to promote the series, which led us to create our own design. One fitting of such an important inaugural season, so we reimagined our "OG" F1 logo design using the colors associated with the series to produce a sleek, clean look.
The 2024 season has brought upgraded cars with improved performance and safety features, aligning more closely with the standards of advanced junior categories. While the chassis remained the same, enhancements to aerodynamics, handling, and engine performance provided a more competitive platform for the drivers.
Additionally, each F1 Academy team is now affiliated with an F1 team, adopting their branding and receiving technical and logistical support. This partnership allows young female drivers to benefit from the expertise, resources, and visibility of top Formula 1 teams, creating a more effective pathway for talent development. Most importantly, it boosts the credibility of the F1 Academy, increasing the chances of seeing more women progress to top-tier series like Formula 1.

Damask Woven Patch
To create patches capable of capturing the high definition of print material, Damask woven patches were chosen over other methods because they are high-quality, durable fabric patches. This technique produces tight, smooth, and finely detailed pattern fabric, often with a luxurious feel. “Damask” refers to the process developed in early medieval Byzantium, specifically in Damascus, but today, these patches are produced on computerized Jacquard looms. This weave is advantageous as it allows designs to be woven directly into the fabric using very fine thread rather than just
