Remember “The Texas World Speedway”

Each spring in the 1970s, Texas World Speedway—opened in 1969 just outside College Station, Texas—put USAC Championship Cars to the ultimate test on one of America’s two‑mile superspeedways. Built as an almost exact copy of Michigan International Speedway’s two‑mile D‑shaped oval (minus Michigan’s multiple infield road‑course layouts), TWS featured slightly steeper banking and delivered the same high‑speed drama. The annual Coors 200, highlighted by the April 8, 1979 running won in dominant fashion by A. J. Foyt in his Coyote‑Foyt, delivered 200 miles of flat‑out, wheel‑to‑wheel drama under the Lone Star sun.

Although TWS fell silent after its 2017 closure, its towering 22°‑banked turns and wide straights remain legendary in American open‑wheel lore. Even today, the echo of roaring Offy and Cosworth engines as Foyt, Unser, Sneva and their peers swept past the grandstands keeps the spirit of the Coors 200—and all of TWS’s high‑speed battles—vividly alive.

Our Designs are directly printed onto on this classic Bella-Canvas crew neck, 3/4 length baseball tee in an “On-Demand“ basis to reduce unnessesary waste.  The 50/50 cotton/poly-blend results in a soft and lightweight feel from day-1.

Care Instructions: Machine wash and tumble dry on low.
