The Original Formula One Logo, the design that got ZSCo started
The first F1 logo, the design that marked the beginning of this iconic motorsport brand, was introduced during the inaugural Formula One World Championship in 1950. It was a simple yet functional design, featuring "Formula One" in basic blue block type on a white background. For decades, this understated logo represented the global racing series, a time when function outweighed form and the roar of the engines was the sport’s best advertisement. During this era, race materials would not even use the logo, opting rather for their own typography, accompanied by either the old FIA medallion and/or a medallion for the local governing body.
Even though not necessarily loved by all, this simple logo was present throughout the golden era of F1, the 1960s and 70s. An era defined by aerodynamics, high-speeds, tire wars and tragedy all of which would make driver safety a priority for the first time. In the early 1980s, the FIA medallion was added to complement the text, but this logo would ultimately be retired in 1987, replaced by a wildly different design. At ZSCo, we believe this classic logo deserves more recognition, so we've reimagined it by rearranging the elements and adding a grey background. The result is a simple yet clean design that evokes the spirit of a bygone era of racing.

Damask Woven Patch
To create patches capable of capturing the high definition of print material, Damask woven patches were chosen over other methods because they are high-quality, durable fabric patches. This technique produces tight, smooth, and finely detailed pattern fabric, often with a luxurious feel. “Damask” refers to the process developed in early medieval Byzantium, specifically in Damascus, but today, these patches are produced on computerized Jacquard looms. This weave is advantageous as it allows designs to be woven directly into the fabric using very fine thread rather than just
