The 1975 SCCA/USAC Formula 5000 Championship marked a thrilling turning point in American open-wheel racing. With the fall of the Can-Am Series, F5000 emerged as the SCCA’s premier competition—drawing major attention, national TV coverage, and fierce rivalries.

It was the season of legends: Mario Andretti’s blistering speed in the Vel’s Parnelli Lola T332 versus Brian Redman’s ironclad consistency in the Haas-Hall T332, a duel that kept fans on the edge as Redman clinched his second straight title. Al Unser stormed into contention, while new entries like the Shadow DN6, Talon, and March machines kept the action unpredictable.

1975 also marked the final chapter of Lola and Chevrolet’s dominance, setting the stage for a new era of innovation and intensity. Just two years later, this high-octane formula would help relaunch the Can-Am Series.

The designs, which are derived primarily from vintage racing programs are produced through Damask weaving, an ancient form of fabric production originating in Damascus. Known for its high thread count and tight weave intricate and reversible patterns. Damask fabric has been prized for its satin look, fine-details, strength and durability. Out patche-hats are designed, assembled and shipped from Houston, TX using patches that were produced oversees using computerized Jacquard looms.
